Drew Blythe Barrymore (born February 22, 1975) is an American actress. She is the recipient of many awards which include the Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award, as well as five Emmy Award nominations and a BAFTA nomination. She is part of the Barrymore family, and is the great-granddaughter of John Barrymore. Barrymore achieved fame as a child actress through her part in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. In the wake of a publicized childhood marked by drug and alcohol abuse, she released her autobiography Little Girl Lost. Later, she was in a string of highly successful films throughout the 1990s, which included Poison Ivy Boys on the Side, Mad Love, Batman Forever, Scream and Ever After. Barrymore played in several films together with Adam Sandler, including The Wedding Singer as well as 50 First Dates, and Blended.
