Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived into a musical family, 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the cousin of daughter of the singer Dionne. Her mother and she started singing professionally at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark at the age of 15 years old. The two sang backing vocals in Chaka Khan's track in 1978 Im Every Woman. Later, she provided backing vocals to Lou Rawls & Jermaine jackson and even her mother. She started as a featured singer for New York-based New York Funk band Material. Her vocal quality work attracted attention from big record labels like Arista which she joined in 1983. The year 1985 saw Whitney Houston's debut album became the top-selling debut album ever. A number of hit singles, such as Saving All My Love For You How Do I know It's Good to Love You as well as The Most Beautiful Love of All were released from the album, setting her up for a Beatles-beating seven consecutive US number ones. Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz as she is more commonly known, is an American anchorwoman reporter as well as CNN's political anchorwoman and political correspondent.
