She is most famous for her character roles in the dramas Donna Abandando on the ABC drama NYPD Blue, and Helen Pryor on her role on the NBC Drama American Dreams. O'Grady has been the role of lead in numerous TV movies. The actress was three times nominated to win the Primetime Emmy Award. O'Grady was married six different times. She broke up with artist Robert Claypool she sought a restraint order against him in 1995. Gail claims that the stalker was her, however she was unable to obtain one.
